Carey Residency Program and Weill Cornell Medicine Center for Virtual Care's "Doctoring in the Digital Age" required course that teaches first-year residents and fellows the foundational skills to conduct successful telemedicine visits through simulated patient exams that provide an interactive and comprehensive learning experience.

The Center for Virtual Care has created a new series of educational videos about telemedicine. These brief videos, available in both English and Spanish, use simple yet informative animations to explain what telemedicine is, what to expect and how to prepare for a telehealth visit.

In a recent interview with New York Amsterdam News, Dr. Brock Daniels, Medical Director of Community Teleparamedicine, discussed the access to care that telehealth offers patients particularly in the Black community who can no longer travel long distances or deal with potential wait times at crowded offices.

In May, journalist Bill Siwicki talked to Dr. Rahul Sharma, emergency physician-in-chief at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center about recent research published in the Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association that finds significant association between the use of telehealth services and improved healthcare access and outcomes in communities negatively impacted by health disparities.

The Department of Emergency Medicine and the Center for Virtual Care (CVC) have received two grants from the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). The grants were awarded for the Department and CVC’s efforts to advance and accelerate innovation and competency-based medical education in telehealth.
