Foundational Telemedicine Course for Undergraduate Learners
A simulation-based, modular curriculum using the PEARLS debriefing framework with video-based encounters focused on introducing medical students to the core competencies of telemedicine care as defined by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). Students engage with standardized patients in simulated cases then participate in small group, guided debriefs. Material is supplemented by small-group tabletop exercises built around telemedicine focused clinical vignettes to teach advanced communication and examination skills. This course has been modified and delivered to support our medical school, PA program and WCM Qatar campus.
