EMER 8015 Telemedicine and Digital Health Care Elective

The telemedicine elective for fourth-year medical students is designed to be an introduction to telemedicine clinical care in multiple contexts. We will explore public health policy and economic issues as they relate to telemedicine and provide an overview of the technology required for remote medical care.

The primary objective of the course will be to expose medical students to telemedicine as a method for delivery of care and to better prepare students for a future where the remote provision of care will be increasingly common.

The course includes a clinical rotation through aspects of telemedicine currently taking place at Weill Cornell including but not limited to Direct-to-patient urgent care, telemedicine care for emergency department patients, Nursing home care, and scheduled follow up care.
